A place for scholarly and cultural exchange with Israel

The Olamot Center at Indiana University facilitates collaboration between scholars in the U.S. and Israel through our visiting scholar program, our wide-ranging event programming, and a new translation series with Indiana University Press.

Welcome from the director

The only center of its kind in the U.S., Olamot has a singular mission—to support exchange with Israeli scholars.

Our visiting scholar program brings faculty from Israeli universities to Indiana University for one semester to teach and actively participate in our academic community. We also sponsor the translation into English of Hebrew books by Israeli scholars through a unique new series with Indiana University Press.

Through our work, we aim to strengthen ties between American and Israeli scholars—fostering critical conversations and supporting the diversity of perspectives within the Israeli academic community.
